Coleco Adam and Vista operating system problem?

I live in Arkansas and a Coleco Adam. I am trying to load Windows Vista above. It seems to download. I really do not want to move to a new computer because I have many projects stored in Adam. Is it possible to do this or I'll have to upgrade to a system like a Radio Shack TRS-80 or a Timex Sinclair? Any technicians out there who can help me? I teach computer education in schools local high school here in Arkansas and plan to modify the Coleco Adam, too.
