High Voltage

What delivers the high voltage to a spark plug?

Is it the actual coil, or the ignition box, so in other words does the coil take 12v input and deliver xx kv or is the coil just a delivery method for the high voltage, thanks.
Does that mean the input voltage to the coil is 12v.
