Can high-performance memory to 1.7V be safely used for Intel Core i5?
I bought OCZ Reaper High Performance Each memory kit with dual 1.7V () by mistake. Because I did not know that the limit of memory that can be used for Intel Core i5/i7 is 1.65V. "I can always use those memory for my daily use?

Intel ® recommends the use of memory that sticks with JEDEC memory specifications for DDR3 memory is 1.5 volts, plus or minus 5%. Anything above this voltage can damage the processor or significantly reduce the lifetime of the processor. Seems the problem ******************* is related to the integrated memory controller used by the i5 and i7, which obviously means that all the tension you set for your memory live, will also be used internally by the processor, the memory controller. This also means, if you set too high a voltage, the process tends to be degraded or damaged by time. Several memory manufacturers seems to have decided that 1.65 is the magic number that makes it compatible with DDR3 (and probably dangerous to use with) Core i5 and i7. They do not make such requests without the tacit approval of Intel. Personally, if I pay a sum of money to the Core i7 i5 system or higher voltage would never wear in RAM, ie 1.65.
